PROFITING FROM THE WORD II

TEXT:  Mark 4:3-8

Key Verse. 8 “And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased, and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty and some an hundred”

In the passage of today of the parable of the sower, we can see that it was the same seed that fell on four different soils and each gave different results.

PROFITING FROM THE WORD 1

TEXT:   Hebrew. 4:1-5

Key Verse. 2 “For unto us way the gospel preached, as well as unto them but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it."

Yesterday we ended by saying that when you find the word, you can profit from the word.

FINDING THE WORD

TEXT:  John. 5:39-43

Key Verse. 39 "Search the scriptures for in them you think you have eternal life as they are they which testify of me."

In our passage today we have a proclamation that is an imperative command, not a mere suggestion to search the scriptures.  The instruction is finding the word.

In the present dispensation that people visit churches, crusade grounds and prayer houses.  Looking for solutions to life challenges.

KNOWING THE WORD

TEXT:  Isa. 50:4-5

Key Verse. 4 “The Lord God has given me the tongue of the learned, that should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary.

 He wakens morning by morning; He wakens my ear to hear as the learned”.

In our passage today the intent of the Holy Spirit is to portray to men the power of God He may choose, to use that power in any capacity. We are presented a perfect disciple.

THE WORD OF THE LORD

TEXT:  Psalm 105:16-20

Key Verse.19 “Until the time that His word came, the word of the Lord tried him”.

The word of God is mighty. God word is God.  Whether, written or spoken.  In the beginning, it was by the word that the earth was created (Gen. 1:13).  And by the word also the earth and everything in it is being held together.

Key Verse. 165 “Great peace has they which love the law, and nothing shall offend them."

A man needs the word of God as the power to achieve in life from our passage today.

CONFIDENCE IN GOD’S WORD

TEXT:  Psalm 119:41-48

Key Verse. 46 “I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings and will not be ashamed."

When you keep in touch with the word of God it gives you hope and enable you to continue to obey His word.  In our passage today the Psalmist desire to keep in touch with the word of God always as his hope and to enable him to continue obeying.

Keeping the word of God help you to walk in liberty and enable you to speak God's testimonies before kings without being ashamed like the Psalmist in today’s passage.

KEEPING GOD’S WORD

TEXT:  Psalm.  119:57-64

Key Verse.57 “Thou art my portion O Lord; I have said that I would keep thy word."

In our passage today the psalmist realized that what counts in life is the word and also realized the need to repent from evil ways, turn unto God and promised to keep His commandments.

ABILITY OF THE WORD

TEXT:  Nehemiah 8:9-12

Key Verse. 9 "For all the people wept when they heard the word".

In our passage today, the people heard the word from the priest and Levites, and they wept.  The word affected their life.  They cried because they discovered that they had departed from the truth.

HOW YOUR FAITH WORKS

TEXT:  Dan. 3:8-18

Key Verse. 17 “If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand O king.”

Many in the Church today believe in the strength of the devil than God.  They celebrate devil more than God; they talk about him more than God.
