Text: Matt 5:22, Mark 3:5, Ps 4:4, Eph 4:26, 27

Key verse:” Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still.” Ps 4:4

It is natural to feel angry when you witness an injustice. In itself, anger is not sinful. But left unmanaged, it can become one of the deadliest forces of all.

Text:  Gen 3:1-6

Key verse:” And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.” Gen 3:6

 All human beings have desires. Nothing could be more natural than the normal human desire for food and drink, warmth, love, companionship, and, yes, sexual pleasure.

Key verse:” I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like Most High.” Isa 14:14

Pride is the opposite of humility, and is characterized by self-centeredness and self-exaltation. Unlike the lusts of the flesh, pride is entirely a matter of the heart!

 Key verse:” Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” 1Pet5:8

The watchword in the letter to the seven churches is do not compromise. In each case, believers had either already compromised some aspect of their faith or were facing situations wherein they would be tempted to compromise. Whether they would stand under the pressure of temptation depend upon the depth of their commitment.

THE ENGRAFTED WORD

TEXT:  James 1:19-23

Key Verse. 21 “Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls."

From our passage today the word “engrafted” the word means “to attach to and becomes part of".

PARTNERING TO SPREAD THE WORD

TEXT:  Act 6:4-7

Key Verse 7. “And the word of God increased, and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly”.

As children of God, it should be our uttermost desire for the word of the Lord to spread rapidly across the face of the earth.

In our passage today we saw what the early church did.

Our passage today in praise of the works and word of God. In His love, God sends His words to us in due season.  There is a word for the day and a revelation for the night.

SPEAK THE WORD

TEXT:  Ps. 51:1-15

Key Verse.1 “Have mercy upon me, O God according to thy loving-kindness according to unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions".

If you have found the word and you have believed in it, then you must be able to speak it.  In our passage today David is an example of a man that speaks the word.

WORDS ARE SPIRITUAL

TEXT:  John 6:60-64

Key Verse. 63. “It is the spirit who quickens the flesh profits nothing the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life".

From our passage today Jesus give us an insight that the words are spirit "the words that I speak unto you; they are spirit, and they are life".  What makes words spirit?
